Meet our staff
Cath Davies is the Settings Manager, SENCO and SOCCO. She has worked at Pre-school since September 1997. Her qualifications include a Level 4 in Leadership and Management at Early Years Setting (NCFE) and in Children's Care, Learning and Development, a NVQ3 qualification in Early Years Care and Education and in Playwork and a Level 3 Diploma in Pre-school Practice.
Cath is passionate about Early Years and has lots of imagination and ideas for activities. She is treasurer of the local Early Education branch. She positively promotes the constant process of self-evaluation and professional development amongst the whole staff team.
Fiona Paley is a Deputy Manager, Deputy SENCO and Deputy SOCCO. She has worked at Pre-school since September 2000 and has a Level 3 Diploma in Pre-school Practice .
She is kind, caring and sympathetic to the children's needs and enjoys helping the children to develop to their full potential. She loves being part of a friendly and supportive team.
Emma Long is a Deputy Manager, Deputy SOCCO and Behaviour Officer. She has worked at Pre-school since February 2003. Her qualifications include a Level 5 Early Years Practitioner, NVQ3 qualification in Children's Care, Learning and Development and also NVQ3 in Playwork.
Emma enjoys working with the two year olds and building relationships that encourage the children to blossom and grow to their full potential.
Nicola Gunter is the Treasurer and has worked at Pre-school since January 2024. She is Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) qualified.
Nicola is a great asset to the team and assists Cath in the running of the Setting; dealing with all financial and administration issues.
Yvonne Morris is an Early Years Practitioner and has worked in Pre-school since September 2000. Her qualifications include a NVQ2 in Early Years Care and Education, NVQ3 in Children's Care, Learning and Development and also NVQ3 in Playwork.
Yvonne is committed to ensuring that the children's needs and development are always paramount. She is very creative and loves to share her skills, passion and sense of humour with the children.
Katie Davies is an Early Years Practitioner and has worked in Pre-school since May 2021. She has a Level 3 Diploma for the Children's Workforce (Early Years Educator).
Katie has experience with children through being a young leader for Beaver's since she was 14 and being a Cub leader since she was 18. Even though she is the youngest member of our team, she is very confident interacting with the children.
Anna Cross is an Early Years Practitioner and has worked in Pre-school since November 2021. She has a Level 3 Diploma for the Children's Workforce (Early Years Educator).
She is very enthusiastic and has loved getting to know the children since starting with us. She has a gentle and patient nature and enjoys reading stories and music and movement.
Gemma Marshall is an Early Years Practitioner and has worked at our Pre-school since January 2015. She has a Level 2 Diploma in Early Years Practitioner.
Gemma's quiet nature attracts the less confident children and encourages them to be more sociable.
Kiri Williams is an Early Years Practitioner and has worked in Pre-school since March 2023. She has a Level 3 Diploma for The Early Years Workforce (Early Years Educator).
Kiri has a gentle nature and the children love listening to her read stories to them in the book corner. Her favourite book to read is the Gruffalo.
