Meet our staff
Cath Davies is the Settings Manager, SENCO and SOCCO. She has worked at Pre-school since September 1997. Her qualifications include a Level 4 in Leadership and Management at Early Years Setting (NCFE) and in Children's Care, Learning and Development, a NVQ3 qualification in Early Years and Child Care and in Playwork and a Diploma in Pre-school Practice.
Cath is passionate about Early Years and has lots of imagination and ideas for activities. She is treasurer of the local Early Education branch. She positively promotes the constant process of self-evaluation and professional development amongst the whole staff team.
Fiona Paley is a Deputy Manager, Deputy SENCO and Deputy SOCCO. She has worked at Pre-school since September 2000 and has a Diploma in Pre-school Practice .
She is kind, caring and sympathetic to the children's needs and enjoys helping the children to develop to their full potential. She loves being part of a friendly and supportive team.
Emma Long is a Deputy Manager, Deputy SOCCO and Behaviour Officer. She has worked at Pre-school since February 2003. Her qualifications include a NVQ3 qualification in Early Years and Child Care and in Playwork, and a Certificate in Child Care Education.
Emma enjoys working with the two year olds and building relationships that encourage the children to blossom and grow to their full potential.
Georgina Fletcher is the Treasurer and has worked at Pre-school since September 2006. Her qualifications include a Certificate in School Business Management and she is Association of Accounting Technicians qualified.
Gina is an enthusiastic member of the team and assists Cath in the running of the Setting dealing with all financial and administration issues.
Becky Fairhurst is an Early Years Practitioner and is also Deputy Supervisor of the Out of School Club. She has worked at the Pre-school since November 2007 and has a Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education together with an NVQ3 in Playwork.
Becky is an enthusiastic member of staff who gets great satisfaction from seeing children progress. She loves observing them enjoy their time at pre-school playing and interacting with their peers. She especially enjoys reading stories with the children and her favourite book to read is 'Room on the Broom'.
Yvonne Morris is an Early Years Practitioner and has worked in Pre-school since September 2000. Her qualifications include a NVQ2 and NVQ3 in Early Years and Child Care and Playwork.
Yvonne is committed to ensuring that the children's needs and development are always paramount. She is very creative and loves to share her skills, passion and sense of humour with the children.
Carolyn Branham is an Early Years Practitioner and has worked at the Pre-school since February 2005. She has a Diploma in Pre-school Practice.
Carolyn enjoys working with the children one to one supporting them through their decision making and interests to learn new skills.
Ashley Taylor is an Early Years Practitioner and has worked in Pre-school since September 2012. She has a Level 3 Diploma in Early Learning and Childcare.
Ashley's gentle approach encourages the children to persevere with their chosen activity, giving them confidence to develop at their own pace.
Jessica Dougall is an Early Years Practitioner and has worked in Pre-school since January 2014. She has a Level 3 Diploma in Early Learning and Childcare.
Jessica enthusiastically reads stories to the children, acting out the different characters. She actively encourages the children to use their imagination during their play.
Melanie Memmott is an Early Years Practitioner and One-to-One Support. She has worked at the Pre-school since May 2018.
Mel is very considerate of the children's needs, patiently encouraging them in their development. She enjoys spending time outside assisting the children in exploring the environment around them.
Shagufta Bland is a Lunchtime Assistant and the After School Club Cook. She has worked at the Pre-school since February 2012.
With Shagufta's arrival the children anticipate that the lunchtime routine will commence. Lunchtime is a social time in which the children and adults talk together.
Gemma Marshall is a Lunchtime Assistant and has worked at our Pre-school since January 2015.
Gemma's quiet nature attracts the less confident children and encourages them to be more sociable.
Jen Lace is a Lunchtime Assistant and has worked at our Pre-school since November 2016.
Jen likes to spend time gently encouraging the children with their lunches, talking about their day and their interests.
Jane Johnson is a Lunchtime Assistant and has worked at our Pre-school since October 2017.
Jane chats with the children whilst they are having their lunch. She engages with them outdoors, encouraging them in their play.
Elaine Ranfield is an After School Club Assistant and has worked at the Setting since September 2000. She is NNEB qualified.
Elaine works in St Vincent's Primary School as the Lead Teaching Assistant which helps with our links with the Primary School.
